Craig Moorhead's LE TRIUMPH DE FATTY
(buy it)     (lyrics)

FATTY stands as the forgotten work in the Craig cannon, mostly by me, for no real apparent reason. Finding itself unfairly wedged in-between the cockrocking promise of NIGHTTIME MAN and the dazzling fulfillment of SUMMER IN WINSTON, FATTY finds a nervous and antsy Craig recording his life in-between major events, recovering from catastrophes, crises, and dumb girlfriends.

There's a restless urgency here, a re-examination of life and love and work that finds a more introspective and vulnerable Craig dicking around with his guitar and drum machine. FATTY ain't no SUMMER IN WINSTON, but even SUMMER IN WINSTON ain't no SUMMER IN WINSTON sometimes, you know? Ends on a note of shimmering and perfect hope, which is better than most of us can say.
