Craig Moorhead's BOLD EXPERIMENT
(buy it)     (lyrics)

Some artists tend to lose their creative way when they fall in love (i.e. John Lennon when he met Yoko, Paul when he met Linda, Brian Wilson when he met that king-sized bed he remained in for the better part of a decade,). Fortunately for Craig Moorhead that wasn't the case. Mis B., his romantic and musical partner, who contributes her lovely vocals to two tracks on Craig Moorhead's Bold Experiment (Bluebird--her own composition--and Nine Big Heartbreaks) seems to have become a permanent member of the Baron Von Records family. That's okay with me, because Bold Experiment is Craig's finest collection of music since his groundbreaking savant rock classic, 26% Rock and Roll Solution.

This is it folks. Rock music for the masses that doesn't leave you with that sell out corporate whore taste in your mouth. Craig draws his musical inspirations from all over the map, and creates a sound that a more hyperbolic music critic might describe as a schizophrenic blend of Ozzy Osbourne and They Might be Giants, with a touch of Elliot Smith thrown in for taste. But I won't say that. What I will say is that Craig Moorhead's Bold Experiment is an absolutely addictive and compelling listening experience. And every time I listen to it I discover more layers, more clues, and ask myself more questions. Craig Moorhead's music makes me feel me real emotions and think the big thoughts. Bold Experiment is another essential piece of work from a man who has remained hidden from a larger audience for far too long.
